Park and Greenhouse Clean-Up
On Friday, October 7th, the Hudson Park Children’s Greenhouse committee hosted a successful greenhouse clean up in Hudson Park. Steven Nakashima coordinated the groups, gave a brief history of the greenhouse and delegated teams to different areas. Karen Hessel and Margaret Chadwick led the team that cleaned both Hudson Park beaches. Steven led the team that cleaned within the greenhouse fence, the pond and around the stone chairs. Overall we filled 52 plastic bags of garbage. The weather was wonderful and Hudson Park sparkles!
The HPCG committee would like to thank LAZ Parking, led by Todd J. Slager, Senior Director of Operations, who brought cleanup implements and manpower. Thank you also to Monroe College, led by Kathryn MacDonald, who came with a GREAT team of capable college students. Thank you also to New Rochelle Parks & Recreation department and commissioner Bill Zimmermann, who also provided gloves and bags.
