Tree Journals: Exploring the Life of Trees

in Classes by Karen Hessel

Join us for an immersive journey into the world of trees with our "Tree Journals" class! Students will create their own paper journals while studying the fascinating biology and anatomy of local trees. Through hands-on activities, they'll craft beautiful artwork from tree disks, make stunning sun prints using leaves, pine cones, and twigs, and create detailed rubbings of various tree textures. This class offers a unique blend of science and creativity, allowing students to connect with nature and develop a deeper appreciation for the trees in our area.

This engaging class is part of our 4-H Explorations for Educators series, presented by the Cornell Cooperative Extension-Westchester County (CCE/WC). Designed to augment school classroom instruction, these programs emphasize "learning by doing" and are tailored to meet the needs and abilities of participating youth. Join us for a unique opportunity to explore science in a fun and interactive way, and see the invisible made visible!
